ICFAI MBA Group I Exams

Today I appeared for my second subject(Business Communication) of Group I for MBA program. (The first exam was conducted on last Sunday for Introduction to Management). I love to call this subject as Biz Comm. The subject is very interesting and carries a lot-of-weightage as far as corporate world is concerned. Even in our day2day life, we follow so many communication patterns. The whole point of having this subject is to understand that more we have control on the way we communicate in our professional life (with our bosses, peers, subordinates...) or in personal space, more are the chances of a successful partnership.
The exam was not tough. Multiple choices are provided and one has to choose from them. I hope to clear the exam. Results should be out soon.
Anybody with his experience of ICFAI MBA exam?

I cleared my group A in Nov. Must say what you have said is correct abt biz comm. It was interesting reading the Biz Comm subject especially the section on Non-verbal comms.

btw I am planning to appear for my Groub B exams (eco and fin a/c) in April'06 provided the overseas test centre is confirmed.

Hi Anonymous,

I found that ICFAI MBA (Distance Learning) program is an extensive program and require a regular reading (both courseware and others). The syllebus is quite extensive and require a rigrous regular reading habbit.
I am not sure of their US Exam centers. However, I have read somewhere that they do conduct exams in foreign locations through Indian Embessy. Better get in touch with them. Its better to first get clarifications.
Regarding online services, there are not much except online registration of exams, role number collection and result. This year they modified the syllebus, and they have provided the changes syllebus online as well.
And its a Degree and not a diploma. The typical duration is around 4 years but can be completed in 2 years in 'Fast-Track' mode.

Hope it helps you decide.

Hi
I am also aspiring to do MBA with ICFAI..I live in Dallas. But I am not able to get hold of any counsellor online nor my emails are being replied.. I too need some clarification regarding overseas test centers.. I contacted the Indian Embassy in Houston, but they are saying that the University should get in touch with them to obtain the permission. So, its kind of a tennis match situation..the question being hit from both ends with no answer..Can somebody clarify. May be it would be better if i can talk to them over phone i guess

I guess the aspiring overseas students beter get in touch with the Hyd office of ICFAI directly over phone, because online counselling and emails does not seem to work. MOreover when i approached th Houston Indian Embassy (I live in Dallas), they want the University to get in touch with them and the Embassy does not encourage individuals calling to find out if they can write the exams in the Embassy. But the prospectus states that it is the responsibility of the students.. Hmmmm.Tennis match like situation. I have been waiting for a week for reply and today i am going to try and talk to them over phone

I have enrolled in ICFAI MBA program , but i am losing confidence a bit. As I am leaving for US next week, I hardly have time to collect the question set or attend the classes. I also tried to download the question set from the ICFAI site ...but things are not working out.

I am totally lost ..if someone can help me with a sample paper or paper pattern, I can atleast focus on the preparation. I have started with BC and ME.

I have been working on the MBA from July 2004 and now am in Group I of the third stage. Let me tell you , it was not easy at all. This is one of the toughest courses you will find. But if you really work hard (about 1-2 hrs daily), it would improve your knowledge level dramatically.Group A is the easiest. So prepare twice as much for the rest of the groups.

Yup, I am too looking for a center in USA, where I can appear for July Exams. ICFAI website mentions we can contact Indian embassy overseas except for USA and Canada.. However, a month ago or so, I read on the website that one also contact Indian institute abroad and request them to conduct exams for you. If they agree, then ICFAI can arrange for the exams. But I dont see that information anymore on the website. Can any one provide more info on this?? Appreciate your help in advance.. Thanks

Hi, I am also looking for information on appearing for exam from US. I had mailed to ICFAI and was told that I have to contact any India based International Institute that can allow us to avail of their facilities and let us write exams at their centers. Then we have to send the details of such institute to ICFAI and they will contact the Institute. Is anyone aware of such an India based International Institute?

In other MBA institutes Online exams. are conducted by a distance learning institute through a service provider. There are many online exam. service providers, such as ' Attest Service Centre', Meritrack , who have an MOU or a contract with the institute.

Hence, ICFAI can follow this method which will help many in similar situations.

Hi...
Currently I am working as a Business Analyst (Life Insurance)at CSC, Noida. I want to enrol for Distance learning MBA program thru' ICFAI. The main aim of my wanting to pursue this course is-
1. Want a MBA degree which has a good market value.
2. Need a degree and not a diploma thru' distance learning.
3. The degree should be eligible for pursuing Phd.

I have a few queries :
1. Does MBA from ICFAI worth spending so much of money?
2. Is this the best university for distance learning MBA which would help me accomplishing the aforesaid aims?

I have often wondered how people evaluate the effectiveness of a MBA program. I have appeared for my Group J examinations in April 2008and have been pursuing it since 2006 via distance learning. I can't but help looking back when I started it and the tremendous insights I have gained in the management domain. So when I read blogs criticizing ICFAI for charging hefty fees...I wonder if similar blogs are written for foreign univerities ? I think ICFAI rocks and is an extremely professional organization. It is just that we Indians need to get out of this constant bickring mode
